Scholarship initiative boosts recruitment of high-achieving students

East Carolina University is better prepared to provide scholarships to more high-achieving students thanks to donor support of the institution’s new Chancellor’s Scholars Initiative.

Biologist Jeff Corwin stresses adaptability and hope in life and conservation

“In 100 years since the industrial period, humankind has consumed 75% of the planet’s nature,” said Jeff Corwin, television personality, biologist and wildlife conservationist. “Every half hour a species disappears on Earth, and people wonder why and if there is hope.” And the answer, he said, “Of course there is.”

Transformational investment elevates Pirate Challenge

East Carolina University’s Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge has a new name and an investment that will boost prize money and the student experience for the university’s signature pitch competition.
